Collection of Old Sewing Machines
The Babič family“s private collection of old sewing machines is the product of deliberated collecting over years. It covers machines for domestic use, tailoring, industrial, shoemaking and knitting machines. Exhibits are shown in a few rooms. The collection introduces the biggest producers of sewing machines, such as Singer, Pfaff, Howe, Dürkopp, Gritzner, Neumann, Kayser, Wertheim, Rast Gasser, Adler. Their collection, which can be visited upon prior arrangement throughout the year, includes a model from 1890 which was made by the first manufacturer of sewing machines in Slovenia, Franc Neger.
