Church of St. Michael
The church in the village of Črešnjevec is located behind the camp walls. The southern and northern sides of the church still show signs of the original construction from marble blocks and Roman spoils. The church had been rebuilt twice: first in the Gothic style and later, in the beginning of the 18th century, in the Baroque style, when Antique inscription and relief slabs were used. These have been employed in the construction of the camp walls as well.
The Church of St. Michael, which is one of the oldest churches in the area, features Baroque altars. Recently, Austria has returned several pieces of Roman slabs which had been taken by the Germans during the war. This excellent collection of Roman artifacts is now displayed in front of the church walls.
