Grasl tower
In 1339, Slovenska Bistrica was granted town rights, which also included the right to a town wall. The South-western or Grasl Tower used to be part of the town“s defence system. It had been abandoned towards the end of the 20th century, after being used for grain drying, hence its other name Grain tower. A while ago it was completely restored and developed into an important exhibition centre, where the spirit of centuries past is still very much present.
The tower’s cellar and its three floors host various cultural activities.
